Apprentice Scheme

Are you interested in steering a career in the automotive industry? Hartshorne Group is committed to developing its own apprentices to support future customer requirements and offers an excellent Apprenticeship Scheme giving you the opportunity to earn while you learn.

The scheme is designed for 16-18 year olds who wish to pursue a career in automotive engineering. Candidates will further their education through vocational training which will result in relevant industry qualifications: BTEC National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering and NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair.

The course will also provide apprentices with the essential skills and knowledge required for the job. On the job training will be complemented by studying at Stephenson College in Coalville, Leicestershire. Apprentices will be released from work to spend a total of 12 weeks at the college, which is divided into six 2-week blocks until the completion of the course, which usually lasts for 3 years. On achievement of their qualifications, technicians can then progress to a HNC in Motor Vehicle Engineering, which is sponsored by Hartshorne Group. The qualifications ensure technicians are trained to Government and Volvo Company standards.
